TCS Campus Recruitment Process: In this Pattern, there are 4 rounds. 1. Written Round: The Written round consists of the Analytical Test and the e-mail writing. In the Analytical test, the Quantitative Ability and the Reasoning Ability sections are tested. There are 30 questions to be attempted in 80 minutes: 18-22 Quantitative and 12-8 Reasoning based questions. The important topics include Number system, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Profit and Loss, Time, Speed, Distance and Work, Permutations and Combinations, Probability, Plane geometry, Basic Algebra, Arrangements, Sets, Series, Coding, Truth and Lie based puzzles. In thee-mail Writing, there will be a scenario to be addressed in an e-mail along the lines of some phrases/clues provided. You have to definitely use these phrases/clues given in the question and compose an e-mail. While writing, grammar should be followed according to the standard English. Yes, you will lose marks if you make grammatical mistakes. You have to complete this e-mail writing in 10 minutes. Please use resources on Conduira Online to understand sample e-mail writing questions, sample good and bad e-mails. 2. Technical Round: In the technical round, some of the subjects that you will be tested include C, JAVA and DBMS. Along with them, prepare on two more subjects from your branch. In most of the technical interviews, the interview panel will ask your favourite subject- in case of which you can speak out the subjects that you have prepared. 3. Managerial Round: This round is elimination in most of the cases. This is another technical interview but under pressure. Confidence matters a lot in this round as the interviewers are going to check whether one is able to manage the stress or not. The interview panel tries to push one out of one's comfort zone. Keep calm and answer the questions that one knows. If the answer is not known, then don't give up, try attempting it with one's knowledge. 4. HR Round: In the HR round, the interview panel questions you everything and anything related to your personality, family, education, hobbies, internships, work experience (if relevant), general knowledge, etc.

In all above specialisations, most of the placement are in IT sector. Life style at mumbai and Delhi is better and you can access a lot of things easily. But in campus life is not much different. Personally I will prefer IIT Delhi because along with M-tech, you can also prepare for IES.

Both Systems and control Engineer at IIT Bombay and VIPES in at IIT Kharagpur has good placement. You placed in IT sector. Ya life at IIT bombay has advantage of metro city.

If you are only interested in placement then Systems and control Engineer at IIT Bombay is best.

Its depend on various factor like you interest, financial condition, prior motive of gate ect. Giving one year for GATE and leaving a secure job is risky but at the same time more risk more profit.

If you are really interest in core field then its better to prepare for GATE. Otherwise TCS is better option. Ya competition in mechanical field is really good, you will enjoy it.
